1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines rules that govern your use of Uptime Allies' broadband internet services. By using our services, you agree to comply with this policy and all applicable laws. Breaches of this policy may result in restriction, suspension, or termination of service.
2. Lawful Use
You must not use our services to violate any law. Specifically, you must not:
- Use a public electronic communications network to cause annoyance, inconvenience or anxiety (per the Communications Act 2003);
- Engage in unauthorised access, hacking, or denial-of-service attacks (Computer Misuse Act 1990);
- Intercept communications unlawfully (Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000);
- Use the service for any other unlawful activity under UK law.
3. Unacceptable Conduct
You must not use, or allow others to use, your connection to:
- Transmit illegal, offensive, abusive or defamatory content;
- Violate intellectual property rights;
- Harass, threaten or harm individuals or groups;
- Access data or systems without authorisation;
- Spread malware, viruses or malicious code;
- Send bulk unsolicited communications ("spam");
- Forge network packet headers or email source addresses;
- Overload our network or systems intentionally or recklessly.
4. Bulk and Unsolicited Email
The use of our network to send unsolicited or bulk email is prohibited. You must not:
- Send commercial emails to recipients who have not opted in;
- Harvest or generate email addresses using scripts or dictionary attacks;
- Use deceptive subject lines or forged headers;
- Send spam through third-party servers that reference our network.
You must include clear unsubscribe options and process opt-outs promptly.
5. Excessive or Unreasonable Use
You must adhere to any usage limits defined in your broadband product terms. "Unlimited" products are subject to fair usage:
- Monthly usage regularly exceeding 100GB may result in a change of network path or carrier without prior notice;
- Where usage causes service degradation for others, we may restrict or terminate your connection.
6. Illegal Content and Activities
Our network must not be used to host, distribute or access illegal content, including:
- Child sexual abuse material;
- Terrorist content or incitement to violence;
- Material that infringes third-party rights;
- Malicious software or harmful code;
- Content that could expose us or others to criminal or civil liability.
7. Enforcement and Suspension
We reserve the right to monitor traffic and investigate suspected violations. If a breach of this policy is confirmed or suspected, we may take any of the following actions:
- Issue a warning;
- Temporarily restrict or suspend service access;
- Permanently terminate your service contract (in line with contract terms);
- Report unlawful activity to relevant authorities.
8. Administration and Changes
We may update this policy at any time to reflect legal, regulatory, or operational changes. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the most recent version.
