Setting Up Your Connection

Follow our comprehensive guide to set up your router and get connected to Uptime Allies' services quickly and securely.

Full Fibre Connection Setup

Setting up your Full Fibre connection is straightforward:

  1. Locate your ONT (Optical Network Terminal) - this is the white box where the fibre cable enters your property
  2. Connect an ethernet cable from the ONT's ethernet port (usually labeled LAN or 1) to your router's WAN/Internet port
  3. Ensure both devices are powered on
  4. Wait a few minutes for the connection to establish

SoGEA Connection Setup

For SoGEA connections, follow these steps:

  1. Locate your main phone socket
  2. Connect your router to the phone socket using the supplied DSL/telephone cable
  3. The cable should connect to the port labeled 'DSL' or 'LINE' on your router
  4. Power on your router and wait for the DSL light to become stable

Router Configuration

Configure your router with the correct settings to ensure optimal performance:

Using Your Own Router

If you're using your own router, configure these settings:

  • Connection Type: PPPoE
  • Username and Password: Found in your welcome email
  • VLAN Settings:
    • Full Fibre: No VLAN required
    • SoGEA: VLAN 101

Important: Keep your PPPoE credentials secure. Never share these details with anyone.

Eero Routers

For Eero routers supplied by Uptime Allies:

  1. Connect your eero router to your full fibre connection
  2. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device
  3. Download and open the eero app
